Up, Up and AWAY to BRYCE CANYON
This past Easter weekend was WONDERFUL!! We just returned from the 11th annual L. Family Ruby's Inn Retreat! Aunt Sandy and Uncle Gary always arrange it so we spend a few days together enjoying games, food and laughter. We have the BEST extended family - seriously. You can't beat em...
We left Thursday morning with high hopes - the kids just couldn't WAIT to get into that pool! (and sadly, I took no pictures of that!) We even stopped at McDonalds for lunch. Ya Ya hopped out and said, "where's my swimming suit?!" We finally arrived at 4:45 and checked in. One of the events of the retreat was a scheduled airplane ride! Cousin Nathan has his license and offered to take anyone who wanted up in the sky for a beautiful view of Bryce Canyon. It was amazing! The kids were thrilled! Jeff took off first with Cousin Mark. Then it was our turn!

Calf Creek Falls
Friday we went hiking to Calf Creek Falls, a six mile round trip hike ending with a beautiful water fall. Several family members hiked it with us. I had never done it, and was amazed at the beauty. What a great day!
For some reason, Jake is into posing with a scowl. If you wait a few seconds, the scowl goes away and you catch this:

Jake decided to bring all these sticks home as souviners. I SWORE I wouldn't carry one - NOT one! However, ten minutes into the hike home, guess who was carrying FOUR of these babies! Yep - Me. Such a great mom, aren't I?
The hiking group. This hike was AWESOME!!!
Being the well-prepared photographer, I forgot my normal lens. All I had was my telephoto. Not the lens to use, so this is the best I got.

Easter Egg Hunt
Thanks to Cousin Jamie, we had a cute little Easter craft before the big hunt. Some youngin decided to make an egg that looks just like Uncle Bob...quite the resemblance, isn't it? ;-)
Jake and Alex before the hunt. Some little BRAT (I can say that, we are related) PUSHED my BABY DOWN!! All is NOT fair in Easter Egg hunts! I had to snap the photo before I could console her - that's the kind of parent I am.
Ahhh, all better!! She recovered nicely from the fall and finally founds some eggs. Check out the video of her - she broke each egg open and dumped the contents in her basket - then threw the egg. (She had no need for that egg anymore!) We will have to train her like we train her brother for next year!
Jake and his loot - he's amazing. He proclaimed the title, "KING OF EASTER." Based on his findings, I would agree! Cousin Sarah is convinced I train him through out the year to GO when he hears the race start. He's ruthless. See here for proof!
Cousin Spencer was SHOCKED to see he found a camera in his basket!!! oh wait, false alarm, he already had a camera. DANG - we thought the Easter Bunny was generous this year!
